WIA Press Association — Our Positions
Neither left nor right — we belong to no camp.
We stand only with the facts.
On allegations of bias
WIA Press Association does not align with any political camp. Membership applications do not ask for political orientation, and political activity is not a condition of membership. Articles 1–26 of our Code of Ethics are the only standard every member has agreed to. No other political ideology is enforced as the association's position.
On political alignment
We are a non-profit association independent of all political parties (Reg. 205-82-73725, Republic of Korea).
- We do not engage in election campaigning.
- We do not accept political donations.
- We do not represent any party's position.
- The personal political activities of officers (including Chairman Seungju Ji) are strictly individual; no statements or sponsorships are made under the association's name.
On the left/right framing
We see the very habit of framing journalism as left versus right as part of the problem. Standing on no side except the side of the facts — that is our single principle.
This is not a slogan. It is demonstrated by the fact that we operate no paid programs, no certifications, no membership-recruitment funnel, no political donation channel. An association that promises nothing has no broken promises.

On press accountability
We make no promises beyond one: to stand with the facts as set out in our Code of Ethics. Beyond that, we do not consider ourselves entitled to make promises.
